Daryl Dike, the 25-year-old forward for West Bromwich Albion, will miss the start of the season due to a thigh injury. The setback continues a troubling pattern of health issues for the American player.
Dike recently returned from rupturing his right Achilles tendon during a match against Stoke in April 2023, then tore his left Achilles against Ipswich in February 2024. Despite these challenges, he returned to the pitch on February 15 against Millwall, appearing in multiple substitute roles before starting the season finale against Luton.
Dike joined West Brom from MLS's Orlando in January 2022, but his tenure has been fraught with injuries, including a season-ending hamstring issue and further muscle strains. He has three international goals to his name for the U.S. team.
