Pakistan's top-order batsman Fakhar Zaman has been sidelined from the ongoing series against the West Indies after sustaining a left hamstring strain, ruling him out of both the final T20I and the subsequent ODI series.
The injury occurred during the second Twenty20 match in Lauderhill, where Zaman tweaked his hamstring while fielding. In his place, Khushdil Shah stepped up for the crucial third T20I, with the series evenly poised at 1-1. Following medical assessments, the extent of the injury was classified as a minor strain.
The PCB confirmed that Fakhar would commence his recovery in Lahore beginning August 4, under the supervision of the medical staff at the National Cricket Academy. While a replacement for the ODI team has not been announced, this incident marks Zaman's second injury-related exclusion this year, after a similar setback during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
