Former Indian pacer Varun Aaron has praised the relentless efforts of Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna, who bowled high-intensity overs on the fourth day of the fifth Test, leading to crucial wickets in a tense third session. Aaron highlighted Siraj's misfortune, citing his impressive spells that failed to result in LBW dismissals.

Despite narrowly missing out on wickets, Siraj maintained a tight line, while Krishna's aggression paid dividends post-tea, claiming Jacob Bethell for five and centurion Joe Root soon after. By the end of the day's play, England stood at 339/6 with Jamie Overton and Jamie Smith at the crease, leaving England needing 35 more runs and uncertainty over Chris Woakes' ability to bat due to injury.

Aaron believes England is in a precarious position and credited India's stand-in captain, Shubman Gill, for his smart strategies that stymied the opposition's run chase. Gill's field placements restricted easy runs, as India aims to leverage the break to recharge before the action resumes on a rain-affected final day at The Oval.
