In a promising development for Indian cricket, Suryakumar Yadav, the T20I captain, has resumed batting practice at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru following a successful hernia surgery earlier this year. The dynamic batsman is currently under the BCCI's medical staff's supervision as he gears up for the upcoming Asia Cup, starting September 9.

Suryakumar's workload is set to increase substantially, aligning with plans for his participation in the Asia Cup, to be held in the UAE, marking the beginning of preparations for defending India's T20 World Cup title. The tournament promises a new era for Indian T20 cricket under Suryakumar's captaincy, after Rohit Sharma's retirement.

Suryakumar's exceptional performance in the IPL 2025, where he scored 717 runs for Mumbai Indians, highlighted his value on the field. Known for his attacking play and consistency, he has propelled India's T20 batting to new heights, including a record-breaking score of 297 against Bangladesh.
