A joint expedition team, comprising members from three top mountaineering institutes in India, has successfully summited two of the highest peaks in the Pangong Tso region of Ladakh. The expedition, which marks a significant achievement in Indian mountaineering, tackled the formidable Mt. Merag-III and Mt. Kangju Kangri.

The team, led by Colonel Hem Chandra Singh of the Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering & Winter Sports, Pahalgam, embarked on this challenging journey on July 24th from Sonamarg. The mission, undertaken by experienced instructors from prestigious national institutes, showcased exemplary teamwork and endurance under extreme weather and altitude conditions.

Additionally, the Defence Ministry announced the inauguration of the Annual Trident Lecture Series at the Manekshaw Centre, focusing on future warfare and joint force integration, with Chief of Defence Staff Gen Anil Chauhan delivering the inaugural lecture.
