Cricket Australia Names Diverse Squad for U19 Series Against India

Cricket Australia has unveiled a 15-player squad for their upcoming U19 men's series against India. Scheduled from September 21 to October 10, the series will feature three 50-over matches and two four-day matches in Brisbane and Mackay. The squad includes promising talents Aryan Sharma and Yash Deshmukh, both of Indian origin.

This series falls under Cricket Australia's broader strategy for player development, providing invaluable international exposure in both white-ball and red-ball cricket. It's a crucial component of the two-year ICC U19 World Cup 2026 preparation. The initiative has already included training at the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane and a tour to India.

The series will also debut Tim Nielsen as the head coach of the national U19 squad. Nielsen's rich international experience is expected to be instrumental in developing Australia's next generation of cricketers. Following the series, focus shifts to the National U19 Championships in December, where the final selection for the ICC U19 Men's World Cup 2026 will be conducted.
