India has unveiled its squad for the upcoming ODI Women's World Cup, set to take place on home soil. Leading the roster is captain Harmanpreet Kaur, with the team including the newly fit Renuka Thakur and promising batter Pratika Rawal, while the explosive Shafali Verma is notably absent.

The ICC tournament kicks off on September 30, with India facing Sri Lanka. Prior to the World Cup, the team will play a series of three One-Day Internationals against Australia, starting September 14. Both squads feature key players, with some changes to accommodate fitness considerations.

In a press conference, chief selector Neetu David explained that Shafali Verma remains a crucial prospect for India's future, while Renuka Thakur has recovered fully from injuries to strengthen the squad. Young talent Kranti Gaud, who impressed with a six-wicket haul in England, joins the squad, bolstering India's bowling options.
