The stage is set for a significant face-off in the Boxing Federation of India's electoral bout as Olympian Jaslal Pradhan goes head-to-head with incumbent Ajay Singh. The elections, slated for Thursday, have experienced delays, but the Delhi High Court has now green-lit the process, albeit with the results pending further legal rulings.

Complications arose with the disqualification of former vice president Rajesh Bhandari due to a breach of election guidelines. Bhandari will try for the vice-president position instead. Other key positions also have contenders, including the secretary-general and treasurer posts, which are witnessing intense rivalry among candidates from various states.

This pivotal election follows a long legal standoff; initially scheduled for March, it faced numerous postponements owing to lawsuits and constitutional challenges. The tenure of previous BFI officials ended in February, adding urgency to resolve administrative uncertainties within the organization.
