In a gripping contest, Redeem Tlang's first-half stunner granted NorthEast United FC a place in the finals of the 134th Durand Cup, clinching a narrow victory against Shillong Lajong FC. This marks another chapter in their intense rivalry following last edition's semi-final clash.

The Shillong Lajong squad, under their head coach, maintained their trusted 4-3-3 attacking formation with Phrangki Buam, Everbrightson Sana, and Sheen Stevenson leading the charge. Despite their spirited efforts and tactical organization, they struggled to breach NorthEast United's resolute defense.

Following Tlang's goal in the 36th minute, NorthEast United employed their experience to safeguard their lead, expertly managed by Coach Juan Pedro Benali's tactical strategies. Despite intensified attempts from Shillong Lajong in the latter half, they failed to register a shot on target, allowing NorthEast United to progress into their consecutive final appearance in the prestigious tournament.
