Bounce Back to the Capital: National Squash Championship Returns

The National Squash Championship is making a comeback to the national capital after a gap of seven years, scheduled from August 23 to 28. The event, hosted at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium, promises fierce competition with participation from 300 players representing 25 states.

Organized by the Squash Rackets Federation of India and promoted by HCL, this championship boasts a prize pool of Rs 8 lakhs. Notably, six of the participating athletes are ranked among the top 100 in the world, setting the stage for a thrilling contest.

According to Cyrus Poncha, secretary-general at Squash Rackets Federation of India, the enthusiasm surrounding this year's championship is unprecedented. He hopes the tournament will spark increased interest in the sport across India.
