Jonas Vingegaard, a two-time Tour de France winner, has announced that he will not participate in the upcoming World Championships. Instead, he aims to concentrate on the European Championships, opting to remain fresh for the competition amidst a busy cycling calendar.

At a press conference ahead of the Vuelta a Espana, Vingegaard revealed that the decision not to compete in the Rwanda-based World Championships was due to the challenging nature of the event and the need for optimal preparation. His focus now is on delivering a strong performance at the European Championships scheduled for France.

The World Championships, notably debuting in Kigali, Rwanda, will run from September 21-28, while the European Championships will follow from October 1-5. Vingegaard, a favorite for the Vuelta, is strategizing his races with precision, prioritizing events that align with his recovery and competitive goals.
