England's dynamic fast bowler, Jofra Archer, is set on not missing future matches due to injury. As the Ashes series, cricket's oldest rivalry, approaches this November, the 30-year-old is gearing up, emphasizing that each delivery he bowls in the lead-up is crucial preparation for facing Australia. Archer made his Test comeback after a four-year hiatus during the Third Test at Lord's against India in the inaugural edition of the tournament. Since halting red-ball play in 2021, a series of injuries, particularly a stubborn stress fracture in his right elbow, has kept him at bay.

Currently representing Southern Brave in The Hundred, Archer has taken eight wickets in six games with an average of 16. Taking a cautious approach to avoid extended breaks from cricket, Archer is focusing on one step at a time. His immediate goals revolve around the upcoming South Africa and New Zealand white-ball series, crucial in his preparation for the Ashes. Expressing his resolve to Sky Sports, he remarked, "I've had a lot of time off and don't plan to miss more cricket days with injuries. We have a series before the Ashes, and that's obviously in my mind. Every ball I bowl builds up to that."

With England meticulously managing his workload, Archer has successfully returned to his tormenting best, terrorizing batters with his lethal pace. He played a vital role in England's 22-run victory at Lord's and retained his place for the Manchester Test, which concluded in a draw. An eight-day respite allowed him to rest and test the speed gun with his intense pace. Since rejoining England's red-ball squad, he has bowled 88.3 overs, recording nine wickets at an average of 28.66. The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy captivated fans, who eagerly followed his electrifying performance. Eyeing continued success, Archer is determined to maintain his impressive form in the white-ball games against the Kiwis and Proteas before taking on the formidable Baggy Greens. (ANI)
