In a bold move, the Cricket West Indies (CWI) selection committee has revamped the 15-member squad for the forthcoming India Tests, omitting former captain Kraigg Brathwaite. The team is set to play in Ahmedabad and Delhi from October 2 to 14, aiming to tackle subcontinent conditions.

Kraigg Brathwaite, who boasts 100 Test caps but was recently left out in the home Test series against Australia, has been excluded alongside Keacy Carty, Johann Layne, and Mikyle Louis. Instead, Alick Athanaze and Tagenarine Chanderpaul return for their adeptness against spin, with Khary Pierre debuting as a promising second spinner.

Head coach Daren Sammy emphasized the strategic selections aimed at competitiveness in spin-friendly environments. The team's lineup, strengthened by notable performances from Kevlon Anderson and vice-captain Jomel Warrican, prepares for a challenging series to showcase their cohesive potential. They will depart on September 22 for a journey that seeks to redefine their fortunes.
