In a thrilling showdown, Al-Hilal emerged victorious against Al-Duhail, marking a 2-1 win in their Asian Champions League Elite opener in Riyadh. Despite Al-Duhail's early lead through Adil Boulbina, Al-Hilal's newcomers Darwin Nunez and Theo Hernandez turned the tide in the second half.
The opening moments saw Al-Hilal in control, but it was Boulbina who found the net first, seamlessly connecting with a long pass from Youssouf Sabaly to score. However, Al-Hilal equalized when Nunez finished a move set up by Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Malcom, before Hernandez sealed the victory with a powerful volley.
Meanwhile, in another highlight, Iran's Tractor FC drew 1-1 against Shabab Al-Ahli despite playing with ten men. Tomislav Strkalj scored for Tractor, but a red card for Domagoj Drozdek shifted momentum, allowing Shabab Al-Ahli to equalize via Guilherme Bala.
