Rookie Fermin Aldeguer Shines with Victory Amidst Marquez Crash Drama

Rookie sensation Fermin Aldeguer achieved a milestone by winning his maiden MotoGP race at the Indonesia Grand Prix on Sunday. Meanwhile, drama unfolded as Marc Marquez, the newly crowned champion, crashed following a collision with Marco Bezzecchi.

Aldeguer, riding for Gresini Racing, accelerated past KTM's Pedro Acosta on the 10th lap and maintained his lead, culminating in a commendable victory. This victory follows a disappointing runner-up finish in the previous day's sprint race. Aldeguer's triumph brands him the first rookie winner since Jorge Martin in 2021, at the age of 20 years and 183 days.

The race took a dramatic turn when pole-sitter Bezzecchi aggressively attempted to regain the lead, leading to a high-speed crash with Marquez. As a result, Marquez sustained a suspected collarbone fracture, exacerbating his streak of bad luck at the Mandalika circuit. Ducati confirmed a possible fracture, with plans for Marquez to undergo further tests in Madrid.
