SMVDSB CEO Felicitates Para Archery Champions for Global Success
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board CEO Sachin Kumar Vaishya honored Rakesh Kumar and others for their achievements at the 2025 Para Archery World Championship in South Korea. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board's Chief Executive Officer, Sachin Kumar Vaishya, on Thursday paid tribute to Rakesh Kumar for his stellar accomplishment in winning the Silver Medal in the Men's Compound Open category at the 2025 Para Archery World Championship held in Gwangju, South Korea, from September 19 to 30. Also recognized was Pawan Kumar, the first differently-abled archer from Jammu and Kashmir, for his exceptional representation at this esteemed international event.
The ceremony also saw Archery Coach Abhilasha Chaudhary being honored for her dedicated role with the Indian Para Archery team at the championship. The CEO presented the archers with mementos and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi's Chunri as a sign of divine grace and appreciation. He applauded the participants for their perseverance and extended well wishes for their success in future international competitions.
The CEO affirmed that under the guidance of Chairman Manoj Sinha, the Shrine Board is committed to providing a strong platform for youth to showcase their talents. He highlighted the development of the Shrine Board's Sports Complex into a Center of Excellence, encouraging athletes to utilize its state-of-the-art facilities.
Rakesh Kumar, a recipient of the 2024 Arjuna Award, has consistently demonstrated extraordinary talent at national and international levels, bringing pride to both the nation and Jammu and Kashmir. Pawan Kumar, trained at the Sports Complex and from Village Dansal in Katra, received ₹7 lakh in financial support from the Shrine Board to participate in the Para World Archery Championship-2025.
His skill and determination mark a milestone for the Shrine Board and Jammu & Kashmir, elevating the region's status in international para sports. The event was attended by Additional CEO Alok Kumar Maurya, Assistant CEO Dhruv Gupta, and other Shrine Board officials. (ANI)
