England international Jude Bellingham has acquired a minority stake in The Hundred franchise Birmingham Phoenix, according to co-owners Warwickshire County Cricket Club. The Real Madrid midfielder's 1.2% holding will primarily focus on community engagement and social projects.
Warwickshire County Cricket Club will continue as the majority stakeholder with 50.4% shares, while Knighthead Capital Management holds 48.4%. Bellingham, 22, expressed his commitment to giving back to his hometown of Birmingham, emphasizing the importance of providing opportunities for kids who lack access to sports.
The investment coincides with the sixth season of The Hundred, a 100-ball cricket tournament, running from July 21 to August 16. The initiative aims to shine a light on increased opportunities for Birmingham's youth.
