LA28 Olympics Ticket Frenzy: Over 4 Million Tickets Sold in First Wave

The Los Angeles 2028 Olympics organizers announced a significant milestone, having sold more than 4 million tickets during their initial release, demonstrating a robust global interest in the upcoming Summer Games. Registration is now open for the next ticket draw scheduled for August 2026, offering a broader spectrum of pricing and sports options.

LA28 CEO Reynold Hoover hailed the unprecedented response as historic, with 95% of tickets under $100 sold during an exclusive presale targeting Los Angeles and Oklahoma City residents. Local buyers snapped up around 500,000 tickets priced at $28, though there were complaints about pricing, fees, and limited ticket availability.

Tickets were purchased in 85 countries and across all U.S. states, with significant interest from the UK, Canada, Mexico, and Japan. Women's events and artistic gymnastics showed strong sales, while soccer and several newly added sports, including flag football, sold out quickly. Los Angeles, previously hosting in 1932 and 1984, will make history again as the Olympics come to town.
