Sanju Samson delivered a masterful performance with an unbeaten 101, guiding Chennai Super Kings to a dominating victory over Mumbai Indians in the IPL on Thursday. His innings, along with Akeal Hosein's impressive bowling figures of 4/17, ensured CSK posted a challenging 207/6.
Mumbai Indians struggled from the onset, crumbling to 11 for three in the initial overs and ultimately being bowled out for 104 in 19 overs. This marked their most significant defeat in IPL history, despite formidable batting talents in their lineup like Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav.
Samson's century, consisting of a strategic blend of caution and aggression, compensated for the faltering CSK start. His knock included 10 boundaries and 8 sixes, effectively leading CSK even in the absence of MS Dhoni. The team also paid tribute to Mukesh Choudhary's late mother by wearing black armbands.
