Young Australian all-rounder, Cooper Connolly, is set to make a return for the Punjab Kings in their IPL clash against Delhi Capitals, confirmed by spin bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule. Connolly had temporarily traveled back to Australia for back scans, with Cricket Australia overseeing his bowling fitness.
In his debut IPL season, Connolly has significantly contributed to Punjab's success, scoring 223 runs at a striking rate of 163.97, including notable performances with 72 not out and 87. Despite his success with the bat, Connolly is yet to bowl in the tournament.
Punjab, prominent table-toppers and runners-up last season, are recognized for their consistent delivery across departments. Bahutule, however, notes room for improvement with the new ball phase.
