KKR Eyes Comeback with Renewed Optimism Despite Shaky IPL Start
Despite occupying the bottom of the IPL 2026 table, KKR remains optimistic ahead of their clash with LSG. Anukul Roy stresses improvement in both batting and bowling, focusing on winning more matches. Roy, confident after a recent victory, emphasizes maintaining a clear and calm mindset going forward.
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are gearing up for their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 face-off against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) with renewed optimism. Despite their position at the bottom of the points table, KKR all-rounder Anukul Roy remains hopeful, asserting that the team will do its utmost to secure a win on Sunday.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Roy expressed confidence in his team's capabilities, citing improvements in both bowling and batting as key factors. 'The team is very confident. The bowlers are doing well and the batting has also started improving. We will try our best to win,' he shared, according to a KKR release.
KKR's struggles have seen them win only once in seven matches, with one no result, but Roy emphasized the focus on turning the tide in their favor. Acknowledging the team's inconsistent results, Roy stated, 'Whatever we want to do is not happening exactly the way we want right now. Results keep going up and down. We are trying to win as many matches as possible from here and things will get better for us.'
In their latest outing, KKR overcame Rajasthan Royals by four wickets, with Roy contributing an unbeaten 29 off 16 balls. He expressed satisfaction with their first win, underscoring a strategy of maintaining calm and focusing on effort. 'It was my first win for the team, so I am feeling very good and very confident. We want to keep our mindset clear, stay calm, and give 100 percent to the team,' Roy concluded.
