England Surges Ahead in Women's ODI Rankings
England has expanded its lead over India in the women's ODI rankings to four points at No. 2. Australia maintains their top spot with 163 points. India, the reigning ODI World Cup champions, are now third, suffering a series sweep against Australia. Sri Lanka gained points, closing in on New Zealand.
In the latest women's ODI rankings, England has widened their lead over India, the reigning world champions, now boasting a four-point advantage in the second spot as reported by the ICC. Australia continues to hold the top position with 163 ranking points.
India, after securing their first ODI World Cup title last year with a victory over South Africa, has slid to third place following a 0-3 defeat against Australia in their recent ODI series. According to the ICC release, England's points increased to 128, while India's dropped to 124.
Sri Lanka has shown improvement, increasing their tally by six points, thereby narrowing their gap with New Zealand from 13 to just four. Interestingly, Bangladesh has surpassed Pakistan to claim the seventh position. Thailand and the Netherlands, however, fall out of the rankings due to not playing the required number of matches.
