India's young boxing stars displayed remarkable skill at the Asian Boxing U15 & U17 Championships 2026, held on Monday. The U-17 boys saw Yadav Yash achieve a dominant 5:0 victory over Turkmenistan's Suleyman Ahmedov. Meanwhile, Karuna Albertson Kom showcased her potential with a 4:1 win against Tajikistan's Ali Nazarov.
Despite a closely contested bout, Gopal Rameshwar Ganeshe narrowly lost 2:3 to Nazarov Damir from Tajikistan. Mishra Prashant faced a formidable opponent in China's Tangjie Liu, succumbing to a 0:5 loss. In the U-15 girls' quarterfinals, Khushi Rana showcased her dominance, winning by RSC in Round 1 over Vietnam's Thi Ngoc Truc Nguyen.
Hanshika Attri delivered a convincing 5:0 victory against Uzbekistan's Visola Bakhtiyorova, while Nitya Pandey put up a strong fight against Kazakhstan's Aruna Shalman. Among the U-15 boys, Samir Bohra captured a decisive 5:0 win over Chinese Taipei's Hao-Ting Chang, affirming India's promising boxing future at the event in Tashkent.
