KSCA's IPL Disappointment: Understanding the Venue Controversy
The Karnataka State Cricket Association is disappointed after the BCCI shifted the IPL 2026 final from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad. Despite preparations and willingness to host the playoffs in Bengaluru, the BCCI cited undisclosed reasons for the change. KSCA remains determined to host future cricket events.
The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) expressed profound disappointment over the BCCI's decision to move the IPL 2026 final from Bengaluru to Ahmedabad. Despite Bengaluru being the conventional choice as Royal Challengers Bengaluru are the reigning champions, the venue change caught KSCA off guard.
KSCA president Venkatesh Prasad revealed that the Board attributed the decision to specific requirements from local authorities, although these reasons remain unspecified. The association had extensively communicated their readiness to host, supported by significant renovations and improved security.
Regardless of the BCCI's verdict, KSCA remains fully committed to future events. The iconic Chinnaswamy Stadium will soon host the India vs. West Indies T20I and an ODI against Sri Lanka, reinforcing KSCA's continued engagement with international cricket.
