The Netherlands is ramping up its World Cup preparations with an international friendly against Uzbekistan. Scheduled for June 8 at Icahn Stadium in New York, this match marks the climax of their pre-tournament fixtures, the Dutch football association announced on Thursday.
Prior to their arrival in New York, the Dutch team will compete against Algeria at Feijenoord Stadium in Rotterdam on June 3. Heading stateside on June 4, they will hold a training camp in New York City from June 5 to 8, before relocating to their base camp in Kansas City by June 9, the association detailed.
The Netherlands is set to open their Group F journey against Japan in Dallas on June 14. They will then face Sweden in Houston on June 20, followed by Tunisia in Kansas City on June 25. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan, qualifying for their first-ever World Cup, will battle it out in Group K against Colombia, Portugal, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
