Frederic Soyez, a decorated coach from France, has been officially named as the chief coach of India's national junior men's hockey team. This appointment comes as a strategic move by Hockey India, following the expiration of PR Sreejesh's contract, with a focus on aligning with a long-term vision leading up to the 2036 Olympic Games.

Soyez's rich coaching pedigree includes leading the national men's teams of France and Spain and guiding them to commendable finishes at the Olympic Games and European Championships. His role in nurturing young talent is evident as he led teams to significant victories, including a historic silver medal at the FIH Junior Men's World Cup in Delhi in 2013.

Acknowledging his broad expertise, Hockey India President Dilip Tirkey praised Soyez's credentials and expressed confidence in his ability to meld international precision with the nurturing of local coaching talent.
