Nineteen-year-old wildcard entrant Kriish Tyagi pulled off the biggest win of his tennis career by defeating second-seeded Hamish Stewart of Great Britain at the Karnataka Open ATP Challenger.
Ranked 1332, Kriish displayed composure and skill to outlast the more experienced Stewart, who is world-ranked 328. The three-set contest ended 7-6(7), 5-7, 6-4 and lasted two hours and forty minutes.
Despite Stewart's powerful serving game, Kriish's consistency and aggressive play turned the tide. He now progresses to the semifinals, where he will face Philip Sekulic of Australia.
