Telangana Minister Vakiti Srihari emphasized the state government's commitment to promoting sports at an event in LB Stadium on Monday. As part of a 99-day special development program initiated on March 6, the minister highlighted measures aimed at securing gold medals in global competitions, including the Olympics.
The state recently hosted sports competitions under the 'CM Cup,' involving 3.5 lakh children from village levels, fostering youth interest in sports. 'Our focus is to cultivate talented athletes by enhancing sports infrastructure and facilities,' Srihari stated, urging state-wide participation and nurturing sports excellence.
Srihari criticized the previous BRS government for neglecting sports infrastructure over a decade. Meanwhile, officials announced ongoing sports competitions across Telangana until May 23 within the framework of the 99-day action plan, reinforcing the vision to keep youth engaged in sports rather than succumbing to vices.
