Sumit Antil Overcomes Record with Neeraj Chopra's Guidance

Sumit Antil has credited Neeraj Chopra's guidance for his latest achievement in javelin throwing, where he recorded a new world record at the Indian Open Para Athletics International Championship in Bengaluru. Antil's throw of 74.82 meters shattered his previous mark and brought him another gold medal.

Antil, who has been seeking to improve his record for over two years, revealed that Chopra's advice has been invaluable in fine-tuning his technique. As he trains for future competitions, including possibly competing alongside able-bodied athletes, Antil plans to maintain and surpass the 75-meter range, with a long-term goal of reaching 80 meters.

In preparation for reaching these new benchmarks, the athlete has focused on shedding extra weight and honing his technical skills. Despite opportunities to train abroad, Antil favors training at home for comfort and dietary reasons.
