Sumit Antil, who has achieved international acclaim with two Paralympic gold medals, recently voiced significant criticism against certain coaches. Antil claims that roughly one out of every three coaches exhibits egoistic and outdated practices, with some displaying abusive tendencies that hinder athlete development.

In an interview, Antil detailed his own experiences with such coaches, highlighting the necessity of leaving a mentor when their behavior or methods obstruct progress. He underscored the significance of a supportive and understanding coaching relationship, revealing that his dissatisfaction led him to part ways with a coach in 2019. Antil pointed out that the financial lure of success often entices some coaches to claim undue credit from their athletes' achievements.

Antil stressed that athletes wouldn't abandon effective coaches. Such decisions often stem from the need for advanced training or escaping negative environments. The world-record holder remains firm in his resolve to address these issues, suggesting that they have widespread implications within the sporting community.
