Argentina's national football team landed in Kansas City on Sunday to begin its World Cup journey, kicking off with a match against Algeria on June 16 at Arrowhead Stadium. The team flew aboard a specially designated Aerolineas Argentinas flight, numbered 1978, to honor Argentina's historic World Cup victory that year.

The Airbus A330 was adorned with Argentina's national emblems, featuring Lionel Messi's No. 10 and three stars for their championship wins. As the first of four teams to set up camp in Kansas City, Argentina's squad is mostly present with additional players arriving later. The team will reside at the Origin Hotel, complete with enhanced security and thematic decorations.

After a light gym session, Argentina plans a full practice on Monday at Sporting Kansas City's facility. Following their Kansas City camp, they will face Honduras in Texas and Iceland in Alabama. The lead-up to their matches has come with injury concerns, including Messi's muscle strain, but the team remains focused on the challenge ahead.
