South Africa's men's soccer team has postponed their journey to Mexico, facing unexpected visa difficulties just days before the World Cup kickoff.

The squad had initially arranged to depart on Sunday to prepare for the June 11 opening match against co-host Mexico. However, the South African Football Association announced that visa problems for several players and officials hindered the team's plans.

SAFA is actively addressing the issue, striving to get the team to Mexico City promptly. The association is set to hold an emergency meeting to tackle the matter and will keep the public updated.

In the meantime, the team remains in training in Johannesburg, with games against the Czech Republic and South Korea also on the horizon as part of their group stage.
