South Korea is facing a setback as defender Cho Yu-min will miss the World Cup due to a foot injury sustained in a friendly match against Trinidad and Tobago, according to the Korea Football Association (KFA).

Cho, who had to be escorted off the field by medical staff, has a history of 19 international appearances and was a member of the 2022 World Cup squad. This injury will keep him sidelined for eight weeks.

The South Korean team, set to compete against Mexico, South Africa, and the Czech Republic in the group stage, will also play a friendly match against El Salvador before commencing their World Cup journey against the Czechs in Guadalajara.
