The national soccer team of South Africa has postponed their departure to Mexico because of unresolved visa issues, putting a halt to their World Cup preparations just 11 days before the kickoff.

Initially planning to fly out on Sunday, Bafana Bafana will now leave on Monday after obtaining visas for all players, although the assistant coach, team doctor, head of security, and an analyst still await theirs. Sports Minister Gayton McKenzie labeled the predicament as 'embarrassing' but assured that efforts are underway to ensure the team reaches Mexico City for their opening match against co-hosts Mexico.

The South African Football Association, working intensively to address the issue, emphasized their commitment to ensuring the team is ready for the game. With group matches including challenging encounters against the Czech Republic and South Korea, preparations will continue in Johannesburg until the travel issues are fully resolved.
