During his speech, Srouji recounted Apple's journey from the initial A4 chip in an iPhone in 2010 to the most advanced chips powering Mac desktop computers and the Vision Pro headset. He emphasized the necessity of leveraging cutting-edge electronic design automation tools from leading firms like Cadence Design Systems and Synopsys, which are integrating AI into their offerings.
Srouji also addressed Apple's significant move to replace Intel chips in Macs with its own custom silicon in 2020, underscoring the company's willingness to take risks without a backup plan. This bold strategy, coupled with substantial software initiatives, demonstrates Apple's commitment to innovation and technological advancement.
