Chinese automaker Changan is making strategic moves to establish a strong foothold in Europe. The company is planning to set up a factory on the continent to facilitate the production and sales of its electric vehicles. This move is part of Changan's ambitious plan to enter 10 European markets within the year.

"We're committed to being in Europe, making in Europe for Europe," stated Nic Thomas, Changan's European head of marketing, sales, and service. During a test drive of the Deepal S07 SUV near London, Thomas highlighted the company's focus on developing localized manufacturing solutions. While the timing for a European assembly plant remains undisclosed, the planning stages are underway.

Earlier, Changan announced plans to sell the Deepal S07 to British consumers, with deliveries expected to start in September. The company aims to boost its global sales figures significantly, joining other Chinese automakers like BYD and Chery in the European market.
