Siemens: A Shift in Export Control Restrictions
Siemens AG has been informed by the U.S. Commerce Department that export control restrictions on EDA software and technology to Chinese customers are no longer in place, restoring full access to items classified under ECCNs 3D991 and 3E991.

Siemens AG, a global powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering, has been notified by the U.S. Commerce Department of a significant change affecting its operations in China.
The department has lifted export control restrictions on Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software and technology, which were previously hindering some of Siemens' transactions with Chinese customers.
Consequently, Siemens now enjoys restored access to export software and technology items classified under Export Control Classification Numbers (ECCNs) 3D991 and 3E991, a move likely to bolster its business relations in the region.
