U.S. Lifts Export Restrictions on Siemens' Chip Design Software for China
The U.S. government has lifted export restrictions on Siemens AG's chip design software for the Chinese market. This follows a previous order requiring Siemens and other companies to acquire licenses before exporting specific semiconductor-related goods to China.

Germany's Siemens AG has announced that the U.S. government has lifted export restrictions on its chip design software targeting the Chinese market, according to a statement obtained by Bloomberg News.
Siemens confirmed that it has restored full access to its software and technology for Chinese customers. However, both Siemens and the U.S. Department of Commerce did not immediately provide comments to Reuters.
This development follows a previous U.S. directive from May that demanded Siemens' EDA unit and others to seek licenses before selling certain high-tech products, such as software and chemicals for semiconductor manufacturing, to China.
