Macsen Labs has achieved a significant breakthrough in Sodium-Ion battery technology with its new high-performance Prussian White material. Having filed a provisional patent, the company is advancing towards pilot-scale manufacturing after early R&D success. This development marks Macsen's pioneering entry into the energy storage arena.

CEO Mr. Achal Agrawal shared that the journey began when the pharmaceutical company discovered Prussian White as a potential material for battery cathodes while researching Prussian Blue for radioactive treatments. This newfound direction led to the establishment of a comprehensive electrochemistry lab, enabling rapid prototyping and testing of battery cells.

With a pilot-scale facility now in operation, Macsen is producing Prussian White at kilogram scale, with capabilities exceeding 150 mAh/g. The project underscores the potential of Sodium-Ion batteries, especially for renewable energy storage and affordability, aiming to strengthen India's domestic energy future.
