Karnataka is setting a precedent in rural transformation with a new initiative aimed at equipping 500 youths in Kalaburagi district with drone operation skills, announced by Minister Priyank Kharge. These trainings will be certified by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), ensuring high standards.
The announcement was made during an event in Bengaluru where advanced surveillance drones—Nimble-i and NS01—were handed over to S D Sharanappa, the Commissioner of Police for Kalaburagi district. Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj emphasized the role of technology in creating new livelihoods and tech ecosystems in rural areas.
Home Minister G Parameshwara highlighted the strategic vision to equip police stations across Karnataka with locally made drones, boasting AI-powered surveillance capabilities. Designed with CSR support, they feature day and night monitoring, number plate recognition, and rapid deployment, enhancing tech-driven law enforcement.
