Sanchar Saathi: A Robust Shield Against Telecom Frauds

Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia led a pivotal meeting regarding the 'Sanchar Saathi' initiative on Tuesday, aiming to enhance strategies against telecom-related cyber frauds.
The Sanchar Saathi initiative uses cutting-edge tools like the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) to block lost or stolen phones, the Digital Intelligence Platform (DIP), AI systems like ASTR to identify fake document-linked connections, and the Financial Fraud Risk Indicator (FRI) to mitigate potential frauds.
To date, over 82 lakh fraudulent mobile connections have been severed, and 35 lakh lost phones have been blacklisted, thanks to collaborative efforts from law enforcement, financial bodies, and others in the telecommunications sector.
