Japanese electronics giant Panasonic has selected a new chief executive, Kenneth William Sain, a former Boeing executive, to take the helm in April 2026 following modest first-quarter profit growth of 1.2%.
The company, based in Osaka, reported a profit of 71.46 billion yen for the April-June period, slightly up from last year, though quarterly sales fell by 10.6%.
Amid concerns from US tariffs, Panasonic is focusing on cost reduction, workforce downsizing, and expansion in AI technology and battery production, preparing its future against economic challenges.
