Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah unveiled the ambitious Karnataka Quantum Mission on Thursday, unveiling a Rs 1,000 crore fund aimed at developing a USD 20 billion quantum economy. The initiative is part of the state's Quantum Vision 2035.

The announcement came during the inauguration of 'Quantum India Bengaluru,' organized by the Karnataka Science and Technology Promotion Society in collaboration with IISc Quantum Technology Initiative. By 2035, Karnataka aims to create 10,000 high-skilled jobs and establish itself as the Quantum Capital of Asia.

Central pillars of the mission include talent development, R&D, infrastructure, industry support, and global partnerships. The state plans to introduce skilling programs in 20 colleges and support 150 PhD fellowships annually, while also targeting innovations in healthcare, defense, and cybersecurity.
