IIT Jammu Partners with CSIR-IIIM and Start-ups to Propel Regional Innovation
IIT Jammu, CSIR-IIIM, and three start-ups have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance translational research and technology-driven entrepreneurship in Jammu. The collaboration aims to leverage scientific and engineering expertise to accelerate market-ready technologies and foster economic development, focusing on healthcare, sustainable materials, and agri-biotech sectors.

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu has taken a significant step toward fostering regional innovation by signing a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM) and three start-ups. This collaboration aims to accelerate translational research and boost technology-driven entrepreneurship.
The MoU was signed by IIT Jammu Director Manoj Singh Gaur and CSIR-IIIM Jammu Director Zabeer Ahmed, with representatives from the start-ups Biogreen Projects, Evlogia Eco Care, and Crop Domain also in attendance. The partnership will leverage CSIR-IIIM's strengths in natural product discovery with IIT Jammu's engineering expertise to co-develop market-ready technologies.
Through this collaboration, the institutions aim to support new ventures by providing incubation facilities and facilitating knowledge-exchange events. By doing so, they intend to generate local talent and employment opportunities, ultimately transforming Jammu into a scientific and entrepreneurial hub.
