Odisha's Vision: Transforming Cities into Digital Powerhouses
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced initiatives to develop four cities, aside from Bhubaneswar, as digital hubs. The state government signed MoUs for IT and electronics growth in Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Berhampur. Emphasis was placed on AI and cybersecurity skills for youth and strengthening startup networks.

Odisha's Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi emphasized the state's ongoing efforts to transform Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Berhampur into digital hubs, alongside Bhubaneswar. The government is focusing on equipping youths with skills in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies to meet future demands.
In a bid to boost the IT and electronics sectors, Odisha has signed multiple MoUs. One such agreement is between the Department of Electronics & IT and IIT Bhubaneswar aimed at fostering research and policy innovation. Another significant MoU with Semiconductor Fabless Accelerator Lab seeks to advance semiconductor design and manufacturing through the O-chip programme.
The Chief Minister assured investors of comprehensive state support, highlighting Odisha's vision of being eastern India's entrepreneurial capital. The TiEcon Bhubaneswar 2025 event drew global entrepreneurs and innovators to discuss opportunities in emerging sectors, reinforcing the state's commitment to socioeconomic growth.
