Strengthening the Nuclear Shield: A Necessity Amid Colossal Threats
Russia recognizes the need to bolster its nuclear shield in response to significant global threats. With the U.S. and China upgrading their arsenals, Russia emphasizes the importance of nuclear capabilities for sovereignty. Meanwhile, the U.S. plans a costly missile defense system to protect against potential threats.

Russia plans to bolster its nuclear shield due to significant global threats, according to the head of the country's state nuclear corporation. As geopolitical tensions rise, Russia and the United States are modernizing their nuclear arsenals while China significantly expands its capabilities.
Alexei Likhachev, cited by Russian state news agency RIA, described the current geopolitical climate as one of 'colossal threats' to Russia's sovereignty, reinforcing the role of the nuclear shield as both a defensive and offensive measure. He emphasized the need for continued improvement of these capabilities over the coming years.
In parallel, the United States unveiled ambitious plans for a comprehensive missile defense system, dubbed the 'Golden Dome', aiming to block threats from Russia and China. Despite the advancements, military experts concur that no system can intercept all missile threats. Currently, Russia and the U.S. hold the majority of the world's nuclear warheads, while China rapidly boosts its strategic assets.
