Strengthening the Nuclear Shield: A Necessity Amid Colossal Threats

Russia plans to bolster its nuclear shield due to significant global threats, according to the head of the country's state nuclear corporation. As geopolitical tensions rise, Russia and the United States are modernizing their nuclear arsenals while China significantly expands its capabilities.

Alexei Likhachev, cited by Russian state news agency RIA, described the current geopolitical climate as one of 'colossal threats' to Russia's sovereignty, reinforcing the role of the nuclear shield as both a defensive and offensive measure. He emphasized the need for continued improvement of these capabilities over the coming years.

In parallel, the United States unveiled ambitious plans for a comprehensive missile defense system, dubbed the 'Golden Dome', aiming to block threats from Russia and China.
