Abu Dhabi-based Caracal has partnered with Icomm Tele Ltd to supply 200 CSR 338 sniper rifles to India's Central Reserve Police Force. This contract signifies a significant advancement in Caracal's commitment to localize defense manufacturing under Prime Minister Modi's 'Make in India' initiative.
The rifles will be produced at the newly inaugurated Icomm Caracal Small Arms Complex, a facility aimed at fulfilling the requirements of India's Armed and Central Armed Police Forces while serving the global market. The complex represents a robust investment in sovereign defense capabilities and job creation in Hyderabad.
Hamad Alameri, CEO of Caracal, stated that the collaboration underscores the firm's dedication to India, while Icomm's Director Sumanth Paturu sees the contract as a validation of Icomm's strategy to enhance India's defense industrial ecosystem. The first delivery of CSR 338 sniper rifles is anticipated in Q4 2025.
