Boeing's 777X: Pushed to 2027
Boeing's anticipated 777X jet delivery has been delayed to early 2027, impacting Deutsche Lufthansa AG's plans. Analysts predict Boeing may incur a substantial charge due to the setback. No new technical issues have been found, but certification challenges persist, affecting financial forecasts.

Boeing's 777X jet delivery is set back to early 2027, instead of the planned next year, according to a Bloomberg News report citing insiders. The delay has already influenced Deutsche Lufthansa AG, the jet's launch customer, to adjust its fleet plans for 2027.
While Boeing declined to comment, Wall Street analysts anticipate the company may announce a charge related to the postponement, estimated between $1 billion and $4 billion in its upcoming third-quarter earnings report.
CEO Kelly Ortberg emphasized that, despite no new technical issues, finishing a significant amount of certification work has delayed the project, originally slated for completion in 2016. Consequently, analysts lowered their free cash flow projections, with deliveries now expected in the latter half of 2027.
