Coforge, a prominent IT services company, has finalized its acquisition of the Silicon Valley-based artificial intelligence firm Encora, valuing the deal at USD 2.5 billion. This acquisition marks a strategic expansion in Coforge's technology portfolio, aiming to strengthen its capabilities in artificial intelligence.
To facilitate the transaction, Coforge has secured a USD 550 million loan with a fixed interest rate of 4.6 percent. The syndicated loan arrangement, involving global financial giants like JPMorgan Chase Bank, Bank of America, Citibank, HSBC, and BNP Paribas, reflects investor confidence. This funding approach replaces the previous plan to raise capital through a Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP).
Coforge anticipates the financial consolidation of Encora by May 2026, marking a significant milestone with anticipated cost synergies in general and administrative expenses, projected to be between 20 and 25 percent. The company's leadership is optimistic about the seamless integration of Encora's operations, already ahead of schedule, into the existing corporate structure.
