Amazon's UAE Cloud Crisis: A Prolonged Recovery Ahead

Amazon announced on Thursday the challenges faced in restoring its cloud computing operations in the United Arab Emirates. Damaged during the Middle East conflict through Iranian drone strikes in March, the recovery is expected to take several months.
The damage has caused a prolonged disruption in services, impacting a wide array of key clients, including Netflix, BMW, and Pfizer, alongside other major financial institutions and public sector organizations. The latest update from Amazon AWS clarifies that it pertains to the earlier incidents in March.
AWS has advised its customers to move accessible resources to alternative regions and restore inaccessible ones from remote backups. The issue has led to a suspension of billing operations in the affected region, with 37 services marked as disrupted since early March.
